My work is about the paradox of the unconscious mind. Something we know exists yet do not know what hides inside it. How can we say we know our selves, if we are always influenced by something we have no knowledge of?
The figures I paint have parts made of impossible shapes which border on abstraction. It reflects the complexity of human psyche. I hopelessly try to capture what hides underneath the parts reveal to other people.
I try to access my own unconscious mind, by putting abstract marks on the canvas and find what hides inside them, mimicking a Rorschach test. Oil paints are the perfect medium for this because with their slow drying nature, they give me and the painting plenty of time to evolve into its final form.
Odráža to komplexnosť ľudskej psychiky.
